Qufaro addresses the need for a broader choice of qualifications to fulfil the skills gap in the cyber security professions and meet the demands of employers by providing employers and learners with access to a range of cyber security educational courses.
Qufaro has been delivering the UK’s first and only Cyber Security Extended Project Qualification (The CyberEPQ) since 2016. Developed by a consortium of education and cyber security partners and sponsored by Deloitte, the CyberEPQ provides the foundation point for anyone considering a career in cyber security.
Taught using distance learning tools, the qualification’s content is guided by the National Occupational Standards in Information Security (NOS) and aligns with the skills and knowledge frameworks of the Royal Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec). The CyberEPQ is certified by City & Guilds and is equivalent to half an A-Level, counting for up to 28 UCAS credits in university applications.
CyberEPQ Learners will also develop essential independent study skills such as conducting research, critical analysis, time and project management, presentation and communication skills in preparation for those heading off to University or the workplace.
Graduates also receive a Certificate of Completion and high achieving learners are awarded membership of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Information Security (CIISec). Top Graduates are also industry recognised by Deloitte with the Deloitte Cyber Essay Award. All learners and teachers have access to the exclusive LinkedIn Alumni Group in which employers promote opportunities for site visits, work placements and cyber security jobs.
Qufaro has also launched the Headstart in Cyber Security Enrichment Programme for schools to roll out across year groups with the option of those who are passionate about cyber able to transfer onto the CyberEPQ later, thus researching and developing one of the areas of cyber they have met in the Headstart course. This is a shorter course, typically 30 Guided Learning Hours and can be used to ensure that every learner gains essential cyber knowledge for the future workforce.
Recognising that there are learners heading off to University to study a cyber related degree who wish to have foundational knowledge in cyber before commencing, Qufaro has developed the Qufaro Foundation in Cyber Security course for those who wish to take advantage of this approximately 30 Guided Learning Hours summer course.
The unique CyberEPQ is the leading Level Three Extended Project Qualification in Cyber Security. Evolved by an alliance of education and cyber security associates to produce the first step on a cyber career path leading to a university degree, an apprenticeship or aid a career change.
